When we read about identity theft it always seems a distant possibility, until it actually happens to you. Well, it hit home to me recently when I started seeing an imposter, posing as Michael Arrogant appearing at parties, on the Web, on talk shows. Then, in an act of unmitigated gall, he made a transparent attempt to capitalize on the popularity of TechCrock by starting his own blog called TechCrunch. I must admit, this imposter is convincing. He sounds authoritative. He looks like me. He seems authentic. But make no mistake about it: this is a brazen attempt at identity theft.
